The Stonework & The Stucco

I started doing the work myself, but the stucco contractor said I was in over my head, so he's going to finish up. Here's what I did get done.

The housewrap gets covered with 15# felt (tarpaper) and then stuccowire is nailed on over that.

The base of the three story tower is being sheathed in stone for the first floor. It requires a expanded metal lathing instead of stucco wire. You can also see the window seat popped out here and the window I replaced last year.

In order for the stucco contractor to start, I need to get several details finished. There is one window (glass blocks in a vinyl frame) that needs to be made and installed. I have to finish the detailing at the top of the tower,

and I need to finish knocking off the corner of the house to install a new front door.

After

It took me a couple of weeks, but I got all the the little details done before the stucco contractor could start. He came in and in two days did all the lathe and scratch coat!
